Védrine qui vit et enseigne en Nouvelle-Angleterre fait part aux Créolistes (téléchargeable plus bas en pdf) de tout le texte de son roman en créole, ’Sezon sechrès Ayiti’.

Dans Sezon sechrès Ayiti, Védrine présente une Haïti vu par les yeux de ses personnages. Sezon sechrès Ayiti est un roman historique écrit en langue haïtienne, dans un langage simple, avec pour contexte historique, économique et politique ce qui s'est passé en Haïti, ce qui est arrivé récemment et ce qui continue de se passer.

La philosophie et la psychologie des gens sont à peu près les mêmes : ils voudraient tous voir une belle Haïti où tout le monde peut travailler ensemble. Ils sont victimes de la sécheresse, des crimes et des abus qu'ils subissent dans le pays. Ils quittent Haïti pour les mêmes raisons, alors qu'ils aiment leur pays, mais que la situation les force à partir.

Malgré tout, ils ne demandent aucun mal pour les criminels. Mais ils voudraient que ces derniers abandonnent tout ce qui est mauvais... Ils voudraient qu'ils changent, afin qu'il y ait un vrai changement dans le pays.

We encourage you to read this literary work in order to understand the hardships that the Haitian peasants have been going through since a very long time, the problems of agriculture and deforestation in Haiti in a country where governments have given up (on doing their job) many years ago.

Calm down while reading each page, take notes,talk about this book everywhere so that you can sensitize more people on all the problems that have been ravaging the Haitian environment continue to exist today.

A Haitian novel written in the Haitian language, Sezon sechrès Ayiti, was first published in 1994 by Soup to Nuts Publishers, Cambridge, Massachusetts (USA). ISBN 0-938534-27-0. The 2009 electronic version will give the whole world access to take a look at this literary work in front of their computer screen and they will decide later on, to buy (hard) copies of it.

At the end of the book, there is a Creole – English glossary that’s been added particularly to help students who are learning Creole and who have not yet mastered the language or have been at a very advance level to familiarize with the in and out of the Creole language. That way, it will make the reading of the novel, which has been written in a simple language, even easier for them, and for many Haitian Bilingual Programs that are using both Creole and English at the same time.

Nobody has the right to reproduce this book by any means (electronic, audio, photocopy, etc.) without the written permission of the author but they can talk about it, think about using the hard copy (book), write criticism about it to be published in periodicals (journals, reviews, magazines, web sites).
